FEES Competency Training Program

Description
We offer a FEES competency training program with three months of continued mentorship for hospital-based speech-language pathologists (SLPs) seeking to enhance their clinical proficiency in FEES or to establish a FEES program within their facility.

Eligibility Requirements
To be considered for the program, applicants must meet the following criteria:

  • Completion of a basic FEES course within the past 12 months

  • A minimum of 10 supervised endoscopic passes with an ENT

  • Successful completion of a FEES anatomy and physiology assessment administered by DDD

  • Availability for training sessions on Mondays and Tuesdays, with participation in approximately 15 patient cases

Program Expectations
Participants are expected to:

  • Complete 15 FEES procedures

  • Perform comprehensive chart reviews

  • Set up and manage equipment and trials

  • Demonstrate proficiency in scope insertion and handling

  • Lead and direct patient studies

  • Conduct endoscope and equipment cleaning and breakdown

  • Accurately interpret study findings

  • Produce complete, professional written reports

Supervision
Training includes one-on-one, direct supervision and mentorship provided by experienced DDD clinicians and instructors.

Competency Assessment
DDD is committed to delivering high-quality training to ensure clinical competency. If competency is not achieved within the initial 15 procedures, additional support and supervised training will be provided for a mutually agreed-upon period. However, DDD reserves the right to withhold competency sign-off if required standards are not met after extended mentorship.

Investment
The total cost for the competency program, including three months of continued mentorship, is $3,500.
Full payment is required at the time of registration.
